What is family research all about? Well, it’s starting with that one clue, that one piece of the puzzle, and building on it to find the bigger story. Sometimes it takes months to find that little bit of information that helps to solve a family mystery. For example, we’ve been researching our Kelly side of the family. We have good information on Tom Kelly, Jr. and Tom Kelly, Sr. and even some information on the next generation with John Kelly. Then we were stuck. We started looking for obituaries that might name the parents and bingo, we found another Tom Kelly and his wife Ellen. We now have a little more information, but have no birth or death dates. With this information, we were able to locate census reports and could identify a range of death dates for both Tom and Ellen. With this range of dates along with knowing where they lived, we were able to order death certificates and get actual death dates and more good tidbits of information. This is just the beginning of our journey researching this side of the family. How can we help with your family research?
